Solid planning and increased revenue lead to lower deficit forecast
August 17, 2011

An improved forecast for revenue, largely due to higher oil prices and near-record land sales, have lowered Alberta’s expected 2011-12 deficit to $1.3 billion, a decrease of 60 per cent from budget.  Read news release.

First centre to aid rural small businesses to open in Slave Lake
August 11, 2011

The Government of Alberta is launching a three-year pilot project that will see up to eight resource centres for small businesses open in rural communities across Alberta. The first of these Rural Alberta Business Centres will be located in Slave Lake.  Read news release.
